Earth Rumble Rules



First off, to enter you must have an original character. The guide lines for your char design are simple...

I had some people asking me, so I'll tell you all now. You can be from any nation with any of the bending styles (water, fire, earth, air). Ooor you can even be a non-bender... The stadium this takes place in has water pools, plenty of rock to bend, and even a weapons table, so no worries there...now back to the rules

1) Must be based off of you:
It doesn't have to look JUST like you and it doesn't even
have to be the same gender *points at Tyshea*. It just has
to be based off your skills, outlook on life, basic looks, style,
ect...

2) Must be from the A:tla universe:
No alternate timelines from the future or crossovers (any
questions, just note me)

3) Must have a small backstory and ref page for official use:
I gotta know who is who, now don't I? I'll post the ref in this
journal to keep track of all the entries.

4) You must be ready to part with them:
E.R. is an anyting goes tournament. Fatalities can happen,
and just might if you go up against a serious opponent or
the "Original 3".


Next is how to submit your char. I am doing something most tournament holders don't do. I am allowing writers to join in on the battle. Just 'cause you can't draw doesn't mean you can't fight!


Artist's Submission:

Give info on basics like hair color, skin color, weight, height, fighting style, and so on.

Write up a small backstory of how they came to be and why they are entering E.R.

Draw a ref sheet of your character (Ie. clothes, features, weapons)


Writer's Submission:

Basically the same as the Artist's portion except it will be writen as a detailed entrance scene (Why you have come, what you look like, and what you plan to do.) You need to have all the same info an artist would put into a picture...except your will be in text.

For both:
Make sure to post it in THIS journal. I'll add it to the list after it goes through a screening process ....There can be only so many contestants, so I have to choose who to add and who to put aside (I dun wanna though)

Fighting rules

Anything goes. You can even kill an opponent if you so see fit. Please though do not use extensive amounts of blood or swearing. I wanna keep this 'fairly' clean. Also you will only have 3-4 pages worth of fighting room. You can have as many panels as you want per page, but please keep it reasonable. For writers you will have 1 full chapter to play with (you all know about how much that is.) Make it detailed! We all wanna know what happens next.

If you are an artist and you get paired against a writer don't freak. Just go read their info page and draw what you believe the character looks like (unless they have a pic).... Writers please give them a break if they don't get it just right.

The fighters will be pitted against each other in elimination rounds. I'll pick who goes against who and then after all the submissions are sent in, I'll judge who goes on to the next round.

(How it's supposed to go..--> You draw or write it so that you win the battle, then i judge you on your style, story telling techniques, and over all ability. (If you still don't understand, it's like Endzone or DeviantArt Survivor) The farther into the tournament, the less fighters...Until there are 2 left. The final fight will be against MY special character. Aaaand, the winner of that will get a special prize. Don't worry, there will be 2nd place, and "Best Effort" awards too.

1st: A fully colored picture of your choice drawn by *Tyshea and a 3 month subscription to DA from me!
2nd: A fully colored picture of your char done by me or Tyshea
Best Effort: It's a surprise!!

!!December 26th!! 2 days before my subscription is supposed to end and 1 day before my b-day. I'm giving you all a lot of time because I have to read through all of them and do the whole screening thing *sigh*

Since so many people are already done with their ref pics I'm gonna give them the option of going ahead with the prologue page. This is where you show how you got to ER or what happened when you got there, or even a little backstory. This is basically your 'first appearance' kinda thing. Sorta like the audition pages from some of the bigger contests like Survivor: DA. Writers, this goes for you too! You don't have to do them yet, but since you have a month to wait, why not? When done just post them here and I'll set them up for everyone to see.
